Michael V. Hughes comes to the firm from back east and brings with him an impressive array of accomplishments and skills. He attended Georgetown University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Foreign Service with a focus on International Economics. While working towards this goal, he became a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the most prestigious academic fraternity in the country. After graduating, Michael decided to attended Columbia University School of Law. While studying there he was named a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and graduated with his Juris Doctorate in 1989. A proponent of life long learning, he returned to school and graduated from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas with his masters of business administration in 2012.
After graduating from law school Michael worked at McDermott Will & Emery, a well known Chicago civil litigation firm. He then worked as a law clerk in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois, which is one of the most important bankruptcy courts in the country. He then returned to private practice and eventually moved out west to Las Vegas. Michael joined Cohen Johnson Parker Edwards in 2015 and has been a valuable asset to the firm and our clients ever since.
Michael is one of the most experienced Bankruptcy attorneys in town and his skill as a civil litigator cannot be beat. He is well connect in the community and sits on the Clark County Bar Association's New Lawyer Committee. He also dedicates much of his free times to community service opportunities and enjoys giving back to the community.
